How I got into a Dream Job, I believed I would never have!

I believed I would just make it to a decent Job…

Hi, my name is Pavan. I graduated from a National Institute of Technology, Silchar with a degree in Electronics and Communication Branch. Ofcourse, I had to look for opportunities in Software Development but I was not a great coder or did any competitive coding.

During my college days, I had just learnt the basics of Data Structures & Algorithms for my placement preparation. In my final year, I received placement from a decent company and always assumed that getting into a Top Product-based/FAANG company was nearly impossible for me. However there was a part of me which always desired to make it to a good product based company. But, I always had a doubt whether I will ever be able to do it?

And I failed in the first attempt…

After my B.Tech, I started my career as Software Engineer and after 3–4 months, I started my own preparation and used to solve Data Structures & Algorithms problems on my own. After some days, I got an interview opportunity with one of the FAANG companies. I was able to clear 3/5 interview rounds and got rejected in the 4th round. I had this terrible feeling of being too close, yet lose so badly.

But, Failures are the best Teachers. I got to know my weak parts and started to work more on improving my problem solving skills. As a working individual, I always felt it was hard to take time, select problems and solve them. Every time I got stuck, I wished to have someone to help me/guide me.

Here comes the Programming Pathshala to rescue

I still remember the day when I talked with Anoop Garg Bhaiya and expressed a lots of doubts, concerns regarding joining their course. Anoop bhaiyya, Co-Founder of PPA just said one word ‘Trust Us’.

That day, I Joined their 6 month long Program Renaissance, which comes with in-depth Data Structures, Algorithms, System Design, Low Level Design and CS Fundamentals.

The Pre-Recorded Concept Videos with lucid explanations by Vivekanand Vivek bhaiyya and Bharat Bhaiyya felt like gold to me. I had the convenience of watching those videos at any point of time in the day.

The doubt clearing Methods are entirely different here. When we are stuck at a problem, we will be asked to explain our approach and they will analyse our approach, provide us with the hints which makes us think and arrive at the solutions on our own. And Live classes every weekend are always an add on advantage.

After 4–5 months of consistent learning & Solving problems, They referred me to Zeta, and I got an opportunity to be interviewed at a dream product based company. This time, I cleared all the interview rounds within one week.

I am an ECE student with No knowledge of Computer Networks, OS, DBMS. But, I am able to crack the interview rounds which is totally based on these concepts. How ??

All because of PPA. PPA not only helped me to learn Data Structures & Algorithms but also other Computer science fundamentals which helped me in cracking Coding Interview as well as practical Application in Real time projects.

I won’t say that it is a cakewalk.

I used to feel low, sometimes unable to solve even easy-medium level problems. But the best part of this journey is the PPA team. They are always there for me whenever I needed them. It gave me strength, support and an opportunity to improve myself.

I am happy and will always be proud to be a student of PPA.
