Hi Abhishika, Glad to have you with us! How have you been?
Hi, I am doing good, hope you’re doing well too.
Yes yes, Can you please introduce yourself to begin with?
Sure, Hi everyone I am Abhishika Agarwal and I have just completed my Btech in Computer Science from Lovely Professional University. I have done my Internship at VM ware from where I had a full time offer as well but now I am joining Motorq as their Full time Software Support Engineer.
Amazing Abhishika, and how is everyone’s reaction to this at home?
They are super happy, I mean they were always happy when I started working with a few startups as their SDE Interns in the beginning, but landing at Motorq and that too with a package I once could only dream about feels Incredible. I always admired my seniors who could get their hands on such offers and was counting the days until I could make one for myself. So yaa, It feels surreal to be honest.
I completely agree, this is a dream come true and we all at Programming Pathshala are so proud of you as well! Coming to your Interview Experience with Motorq, How was it for you?
The journey has been pretty exciting I would say. I had a full time offer from VMware too and it was a bit of a risk that I took with Motorq. I had applied for a different role at Motorq and based upon my Internship performance, they shifted me to the role that I wished to get selected for.
The complete interview process was smooth as well, I had 5 rounds of interviews in total and every round was technical in nature. The difficulty level of questions was Medium I would say. If you come with good preparation and knowledge about DSA and Problem Solving then you shall be able to do it.
One more thing that I would like to mention is that, You are not ONLY expected to be good at Programming, in fact also for skills like Computer science (CS) fundamentals, System design etc to do well at Motorq’s Interview, they look for those skills in their Software Support Engineer’s essentially.
It took me around a few weeks to a month for this complete Interview process with Motorq.
Amazing Abhishika, and how has been your experience with Renaissance? Were you able to enhance your Problem solving skills with us?
This platform i.e. “Programming Pathshala” has helped me a lot with my Interview preparations as well as to enhance my coding skills. I remember back when I was in college, I would practice coding questions from different-different platforms and solving the easier questions was so easy for me, soon I realised that I could not attempt even medium level of questions and my preparation was scattered all over the place by different different platforms.
Soon, Programming Pathshala visited our college LPU for a 10days workshop and it was taught by Bharat bhaiya, I was a part of that workshop and could see the improve in my coding skills from those few days itself, I soon joined the course “Renaissance” and started preparing all over again. Earlier when I would solve problems I could use Logic but would lack in Optimisation, and optimising a problem is what the Interviewer looks for in their prospect candidates these days, this I could only improve with the help of Programming Pathshala. So, yes it definitely helped me a lot to improve my problem solving skills and prepare better for company’s Interviews.
I have been a part of Renaissance for somewhat 8 months now and one thing that I noticed with the course is that it is so in depth, even if you complete first few modules thoroughly, you would get a good hold of problem solving skills, DSA and many other. You will learn to optimise your code in different methods and simply learn everything in a very structured and enhanced manner.
Great Abhishika, and how did you cope up with lack of Motivation at the times of your preparations?
I would say it’s pretty normal to lack motivation at times and I too had gone through this once. I remember there was a time when I felt that the course was too huge and I took a break for a few weeks. I had major self-doubt days back then and would question myself for how my preparations would continue if I keep being on a break like this.
Soon, there was a session conducted by Anoop bhaiya where he was just talking to all of us. It helped me feel motivated again and after that as and when I had any doubts/confusion I would reach out to Bharat bhaiya who would guide me through the problems. Availability of Co-Founders at Programming Pathshala for their students make the complete difference in someone feeling prepared for their Interview journeys.
Amazing Abhishika, It has been lovely having you with us today. But before you leave, any advice for our fellow SDE’s in making?
To everyone preparing out there, I would just advice you all to keep practicing, keep solving problems and understand that it is normal to feel demotivated, I had been in that phase too but to let it affect your preparations or make you self-doubt then that is not what should be encouraged. You know what you’re capable of then don’t just ever let it go.
If you feel exhausted then take a break but get back up and start with you preparations soon.
Thank you for that incredible advice Abhishika, take care :)
