Interviewer: Hi everyone, I am so excited to Host you all for this success story Interview today. So, Let’s begin with a bit of Introduction about each one of you?

Vikas Gautam: Hello everyone, My name is Vikas Gautam, I am from Jind Haryana and a 2022 graduate from Lovely Professional University. I have recently joined BharatPe as their SDE Intern.

Sanskar Rawat: Hi guys, My name is Sanskar Rawat. I am currently enrolled for my Btech. Previously I have also worked as an Intern for Backend software developer at CloundLex and now I am all set to join BharatPe as their SDE Intern.

Tanush Angural: Hi, I am Tanush from Punjab. I graduated from Lovely Professional University. I have recently joined BharatPe as their SDE Intern. Previously I have also worked as an Intern for Vosch for full stack.

Omee Bharti: Hello everyone,I am Omi Bharti. My college is in the small town of Jharkhand, HazariBagh. Currently I am in my final year pursuing B.tech. I joined Programming Pathshala in April, 2020 and have recently joined BharatPe as their SDE intern. Previously I have also worked as an Intern for Vosch.

Interviewer: Great everyone, so now let’s come to your journey at BharatPe. How was the hustle of joining the same?

Vikas Gautam: Well, In the beginning of third year, I wanted to learn data structures and algorithms so, I started searching for it online from multiple different websites and gained a bit of knowledge about DSA. By the end of my third year I came across Programming Pathshala which is absolutely a great platform to learn algorithms and data structures from. I was a part of an Internship with a company and during that internship I even opted for a Programming Pathshala’s course (Renaissance). I have opted for the “Renaissance” course twice and both times, for three months.

Firstly for three months I couldn’t complete the course so I opted for three more months again. It’s bit of a lengthy course but definitely worth it. After completing the course I got referred to BharatPe, and finally I got this opportunity to work as an intern here.

Tanush Angural: In the Beginning of my third year, I Started with coding and got to know about Programming Pathshala in a workshop. I opted for a three months Renaissance course to prepare well. I started being consistent with the course and with each discussion session that were taken by mentors here, I began getting better at coding.

Sanskar Rawat: So basically, I started with DSA in the fourth year and by the end of it, I completed 50% of the DSA but still wasn’t feeling confident enough. Soon, I got to know about Programming Pathshala. My major aim was to be Consistent with my preparations and to get support for live sessions and discussion forums. Hence, I joined Programming Pathshala. When I started watching the videos, I loved the way Vivek Bhaiya explains it. My Approach towards programming improved, as he clarified the logic behind every topic. He always gives a hint and then you can think how you would proceed to a solution. The course (Renaissance) covers questions from easy to hard level. Lastly, through Programming Pathshala I got referral and got placed in BharatPe

Omee Bharti: During the lockdown I opted for Renaissance. One of my cousins was already doing it and she was in Genesis so she recommended me to do this. I opted for their 6 month course and before that too I used to do coding but had no roadmap. For sure, DSA helps with the preparation but the main thing I got here is the roadmap during this course. Majorly, “How to do” is important in coding. I was able to solve questions after watching the videos. “Practising” is the key. Initially I used to practise each day, then missed a few days but then I got back on track soon. I got referred by Anoop Bhaiya in Junglee games and cleared the OA round, but as I was in the final year and was not eligible to apply, I couldn’t sit for the next round. I kept on practising to hear about a good opportunity. Soon one day, Anoop Bhaiya told me that you are being referred to BharatPe and then the coding round happened followed by an Offer Letter.

Interviewer: Okay so guys, if I ask you to use just one word, or one sentence, How would you describe your interview process for BharatPe SDE Intern?

Sanskar Rawat: I would say don’t panic if you are not familiar with the question. The interviewer wants to test your critical thinking rather than Solution.

(PS — I got panic that is why I am giving this tip Lol)

Vikas Gautam: It Was great! I was able to solve the problem, I was able to think of the approach and there were some corner cases also which I had to handle after writing the code for the rest of the cases

Interviewer: Okay great, so now that each one of you has joined your new workplace, so how is the working environment there at BharatPe and how do you like your colleagues?

Tanush Angural: They are great! I mean whenever I message them, they are ready to help for the smallest thing as well.

Vikas Gautam: They are actually very helpful. Whenever we face any difficulty instead of messaging them we have the right to call them any time and they help us with the same. They are really approachable. It’s a healthy work environment!

Omee Bharti: I have not been assigned to any team yet so don’t have much experience in that, will get to know by this week.

Sanskar Rawat: Same with me, yet to explore!

Interviewer: At Programming Pathshala I see a lot of students who goes through a hard time keeping up with their preparations because of various reasons, but since you guys have reached a place where you shall be proud of yourself, what kept you motivated throughout this journey of reaching BharatPe as SDE Intern?

Tanush Angural: Honestly, I was doing it for the job. I had my clarity towards getting a well paid job and always remained consistent with that thought in my head. It’s not that I loved programming or coding, but I just knew that this was my path to a better future ahead so I gave it all. Not gonna lie, there were times when I felt demotivated when I couldn’t solve a problem but consistency is all that I managed from my end.

Vikas Gautam: For me, honestly I used to end up feeling diverted after every 10days with the course haha. I used to start thinking about different things or end up playing games and spending my time with some random stuff. Discussion sessions and having a word with Anoop bhaiya helped me a lot with these times and I would get back with my preparations feeling motivated all over again.

Omee Bharti: I believe getting a job or being associated with one of the Top-Tech companies has been my motivating factor as well. Everytime I would open LinkedIn, I would see a lot of people posting about joining their new organisation and I always felt like I needed to be one of them as well. It kept me motivated and I gave my 100% to the course for building a great life for myself.

Sanskar Rawat: Actually I was very consistent with my Leetcode. So as you would know that a new question gets posted on Leetcode everyday and the least I would do everyday is, solve that one question consistently. Just like this I maintained my consistency with the course as well and it helped me bag a seat at BharatPe.

Interviewer: Great, It has been a pleasure to host you all today and I am so happy for each one of you for being able to start with this new venture for yourselves. Before you guys leave, Can you share some tips/tricks or some advice for our fellow hustling SDE’s?

Omee Bharti: I would just say that “Do not compare” your journey with anyone else’s journey. Whenever you see someone’s success story, do not compare it with your pace of building a similar/better life for yourself. Everyone works at their own pace and everyone has their own battles to fight while preparing. Just keep working hard and never give up.

Sanskar Rawat: I would say that “never feel demotivated with your rejections”. Face them with learnings and keep yourself motivated while trying harder for better results always. Do not let your rejections decide your faith in your success.

Vikas Gautam: If you are in a “good environment” while preparing for your destination then do not worry about results. Good environment matters to keep your mental state healthy as well and you should always prioritise great environments over everything else.

Tanush Angural: I would say that “Peer Programming” helps a lot. I always had my friends with me here at Programming Pathshala who helped me with my preparations. Peer Programming by Programming Pathshala is one of the best things you can do with Renaissance and it surely would lead you to great success ahead.

Thank You so much for being a lovely audience to host and I wish you all the best for your future endeavours. Good Luck everyone :)
